Request Material Owned by HACC Library

HACC Intercampus Loans (Holds)


Holds are placed by users through the online library catalog. Items can be requested from other campuses only by HACC students and staff. Material is held for pick up in the libraries for seven working days.

If an item is needed that is checked out at the library

An item currently checked out can be placed on hold and the patron notified when it is returned. A circulating item owned by another campus library can be requested and sent to your campus for pick up. You may place items on hold yourself using the “Request It” button under the title in the full record in the catalog.

Placing a Hold

  • Select the “Request It” buttonto the right of the title in the catalog

  • Enter your HACC username and password
  • Select the library where you will pick up the item
  • Click on “Place Hold”
  • On the verification screen, click “OK”
  • The library staff will notify you when the item arrives

                          

You can check "My Account" to verify your holds.

Request Material Not Owned by HACC

What if I need a book or journal article that is not available at the library?

Interlibrary loan service is available for current HACC students, faculty and staff.

Interlibrary loan obtains material, not owned by any HACC library from other libraries within the state and country. Requests are placed electronically from the HACC Library homepage, click on the “Request Interlibrary Loan Material

” under “Library Services”.  For assistance, please contact your campus library staff.

Request Media

How do I Request Media?

Instructors may order online through the Booking Media (Staff only) link, e-mail or phone your campus media staff to make reservations.

Five working days notice is required for reservations.

When reserving media, please provide the following information:

  • Title/Call Number
  • Loan period - date needed, date return
  • Contact information

 

Media must be returned on the agreed upon date. If you need to extend this date, call your campus library immediately.

Booking AV material using the Booking Media (Staff only) link:

An item can be booked using the “Book It” button on the full record in the catalog.

  • Select “Book It” under the title of the item you want
  • Enter your my|HACC username and password
  • Choose the pickup and return dates using the calendar gadget
  • Select the library where you will pick up the item
  • Click on “Book Item”
  • The library staff will notify you when the item arrives
