Please select a controversial issue to write your persuasive essay on. This should be a topic you feel very strongly about. The only limitations are that you do not write about: abortion, lowering the drinking age, marijuana, or gender neutral restrooms. This being said, try to be unique. If you are stumped, watch the news. Your issue can be of national or local significance.

Testing for Online Learners:

Students will gather in pairs. Each student in the dyad will be assigned a different article to examine. Record your evaluation of your assigned article on your handout. Describe the characteristics of the article. Evaluation characteristics can include, but are not limited to, the number of pages, appearance, authors, etc. Share your findings with your partner.
