HACC Class Guides Style Cheat Sheet

Lists

Unordered List (Bulleted) - nothing about this style has changed

  • Top Level Item
    • Sub-level One
      • Sub-level Two (this all subsequent levels have the same block point)

Ordered List (Numbered) - I have changed this list to match MLA outlines. This will not appear in the editor box, but once saved it will follow the correct MLA outline numbering/lettering. If we do not feel this is universal enough, it can be changed :-)

  1. Top Level Item
    1. Sub-level One
      1. Sub-level Two
        1. Sub-level Three

Table

These are the different types of tables. Each table has a header row and column. For accessibility, you should have at least one of these sets as a header. Tables should also be given a caption and summary. The caption serves as a header for the table, which displays like our H3's. while the summary describes the *organization* of the table. It is not shown to sighted users but helps those using screen readers understand how the table should be interpreted (for example The first row contains three types of articles, with each subsequent row explaining how to apply the evaluation criteria for that row to the type of article for that column.

* The condensed tables are a little tighter. It is a very subtle difference but if you look closely at the space around the words you can see it.
