Aside from the fact that your instructor has told you to, there are several benefits to using the library's resources. The library uses your tuition money to subscribe to nearly 100 databases full of articles that you would otherwise have to pay to access. This is different from using a database you would find freely available online. While you might find a useful source there, it is less likely to have gone through the same amount of review.
