The Research Process 1. Your Question: your information need aka thesis or Topic 2. Find Background info: Use these sources to brainstorm search terms 3. Find materials: Are you finding enough sources? If not yuo may need to refine your topic. 4 Read and Evaluate:Are your sources the best evidence to support your argument? If not, find more materials. 5. Organize, Write, Cite: Synthesize and take good notes! Don't fall victim to plagiarism when you write.
