Integrating Information Literacy into the Curriculum

Instructional Information Literacy

What do Library Liaisons do?

  • Develops an awareness of coursework, subject specialties and academic plans for the assigned department to provide support for:

    • Recommending strategies to integrate information literacy into academic programs and courses

    • Reviewing library collections to ensure curriculum compliance, which includes writing the Library Collections Statement on 335's

  • Informs the academic department/discipline about library services, policies, resources, events, and future plans; informs Library & Information Resources staff on academic department/discipline needs

  • Responds to department/discipline meetings and coordinates appropriate library representation on curricular teams and other department-related initiatives

  • Introduces discipline/department faculty to library resources
