Library Sources

You may be able to find a lot of information online, but there are also a lot of things that require payment. Many sites use what is called a "pay wall" to encourage you to purchase or subscribe to the content. The library often has already purchased this content for you, but simply presents it in a different way. The Wall Street Journal is one example. In order to read the content they offer, you would have to pay $4 a month. While you can sometimes kind of read what they have, you can always access that exact same article in the database. The only differences are the title and the lack of pictures, which is simply because the databases are based on the print edition.

You still need to double-check for accuracy and make sure you don't paste it in a way that messes up the formatting, but these are usually great.

⚠️ Permalinks

You can't just go to the address bar of your browser and copy that and get back to the article. You have to use what's called a "permalink" that you find on the page and I sincerely doubt there is a person alive who hasn't made that mistake at least once.
