Request Materials via Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service provided by the HACC Library that allows you to borrow materials from other libraries across the country. Books*, articles, and book chapters may be requested through Interlibrary Loan.

*Requests for textbooks will be cancelled.

Interlibrary loan is available to all currently enrolled HACC credit students, staff, faculty, emeriti staff, and emeriti faculty.

If the material you have requested is owned by HACC (check our catalog or our databases), we will cancel your request and help you access the requested material in our collection. If you have any questions or run into any issues, feel free to contact our Interlibrary Loan department at ill@hacc.edu.

What is Tipasa?

The Tipasa system allows you to:

  • Place interlibrary loan requests
  • Track your requests
  • Check due dates
  • Renew items

You will need to use your HACC username and password to set up your account. You can enable email or text message updates.

If you requested an article or book chapter, the material will be available from your Tipasa account for 30 days or 5 views, whichever comes first. Print or save the article to access it beyond these limits.

If you requested a book, you will receive an automated email to your HawkMail when it is available for pickup.

Copyright Disclaimer

The library reserves the right to reject any request that does not comply with United States copyright law. If a request is deemed non-compliant, the HACC Library may:

  • Request the material in another format, i.e. bring in a material as a loan if the copy request exceeds the limits stated in relevant copyright law.
  • Direct the requestor to the faculty librarian liaison for the subject matter for assistance in finding other material.
  • Require payment for the requestor to acquire the material through the publisher or through a third party. In such cases, efforts will be made to find the material needed at the lowest cost to the requestor.
