The HACC Library is made up of three distinctive yet interconnected service areas or branches: Library Public Services, Library Technical Services, and Librarians. While unified in our mission to help students succeed, each part has its own purpose and falls under its own separate division in the college organizational structure. Here is a basic rundown of the functions of each library piece.
Library Public Services can help with your library account, borrowing materials and equipment like books, DVD's, laptops and iPads. They can also assist in reserving a study room and help you find items your instructor has put on reserve for your class.
Faculty Librarians help students find information for their research, teach how to find appropriate sources in library databases and on the internet and assist in properly citing research sources in various formats like APA and MLA.
Library Technical Services works with Faculty Librarians and Library Staff to process material orders and maintain library systems.
The HACC Library is part of the larger HACC Learning Commons and works with Testing, Tutoring, and User Support to serve students needs. For more information about the structure of the Learning Commons please check out their About page.
