Microsoft Office 365

HACC offers Office 365 for all students. The following applications are included in the Office 365 package:

Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel- These tools let you create text documents and spreadsheets using conventional Microsoft Office interfaces. There are some cloud components like sharing, but you can also download the programs onto your computer like traditional Microsoft Office software.

Microsoft Powerpoint-You can create slideshows using images and text, set up timed transitions, and more.

Microsoft Access (PC Users Only)- Easy-to-use tool for creating business applications, from templates or from scratch. With its rich and intuitive design tools, Access can help you create appealing and highly functional applications in a minimal amount of time. Please note that this is not able to be installed on Apple devices.

These applications are a part of the Office 365 package and are FREE for HACC Students through HACC on the Hub.


To get Microsoft Office 365 for the first time:

  1. Go to http://hacc.onthehub.com.
  2. You will be redirected to the my.HACC portal login page.
  3. Log in with your HACC ID and password.
  4. Click on the Start Shopping button.
  5. Click on Office 365 Pro Plus, add it to the cart and proceed to check out.
  6. Follow the directions to access the Office 365 apps online or to download it to your device.

To renew Microsoft Office 365:

  1. Login to https://hacc.onthehub.com/WebStore/Welcome.aspx using your HACC ID and password.
  2. Click on the Start Shopping button.
  3. Click on Office 365 Pro Plus, add it to the cart and proceed to check out.
  4. Follow the directions to login to the Office 365 portal using your userID@myhawks.onmicrosoft.com account and password. If you cannot remember the password for Your Office 365 account, please contact the IT Support Center at 717-780-2570 and a technician can help you resetting it. There is also an option to reset your Microsoft account password at the login screen of the Office 365 portal.
  5. Once you have successfully logged into the Office 365 portal your account should automatically renew. 
    **Users may see a message bar at the top of their Office 365 application showing a button to Activate it. If this happens, please click on the Activate button and select the option to activate the software by logging into your Microsoft account. Make sure to use your Microsoft account @myhawks.onmicrosoft.com and NOT your hawkmail.hacc.edu. There is NO need to re-download or reinstall the software but you may be asked to re-start your computer or at least close your applications and re-open them in order for the activation to work.

Microsoft Azure Dev for Teaching

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (previously known as Microsoft Imagine Standard and Premium) is a subscription-based offering for accredited schools and departments providing access to tools commonly used in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs. It provides professional developer and designer tools, software, and services from Microsoft to faculty and students.
