General Information

The student employee pay rate is $11.00 per hour.

Federal Work Study and Budget positions are available.

Front Desk Representative

This position is available at the Lancaster and York campuses.

Job Purpose

Responsible for providing HACC students with general assistance in reference to HACC Tutoring services.

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Welcome HACC students and visitors to the HACC Tutoring.
  2. Assess the general needs of students visiting tutoring to ensure they are connected with the most appropriate tutor and/or service.
  3. Maintain accurate records of student interactions.
  4. Participate in tutoring department training sessions.
  5. Participate in projects as assigned, including class visits and promotions.

 

Qualifications

  1. Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher
  2. Recommendations from two (2) faculty members.
  3. Enrolled as a student at HACC.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work with a diverse student population.
  7. Willingness to work a flexible schedule of hours including days, evenings, and weekends.

 

Learning Outcomes

The student will:

  1. Learn how to employ strong customer service skills.
  2. Learn how to communicate effectively.
  3. Learn how to work independently.
  4. Learn how to keep an accurate schedule and use TracCloud for notes, scheduling appts., etc.
  5. Learn how to effectively locate resources to aid students.
  6. Expand and increase their knowledge on resources to aid students.
  7. Learn how to problem solve efficiently and effectively (such as evaluating/assessing what students need assistance with and who best to connect them with)

 

Moderator

This is a remote position.

Job Purpose

Responsible for providing tutoring to students in discipline(s) as assigned.

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate one-on-one and group tutorial sessions tailored to meet student needs for content and learning styles.
  2. Maintain accurate records of student contacts.
  3. Participate in tutoring department training sessions.
  4. Participate in projects as assigned, including class visits and promotions.

Qualifications

  1. Grade of A or B in course(s) tutored.
  2. Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 higher.
  3. Recommendations from two (2) faculty members.
  4. Enrolled as a student at HACC.
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  6. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work with a diverse student population.
  8. Willingness to work a flexible schedule of hours including days, evenings, and weekends.

Learning Outcomes

As a tutor, the student will:

  1. Learn how to employ strong customer service skills.
