Accessibility at the Library

HACC Library is committed to providing equal access to library collections, services, and facilities for all library users. It is a priority for the HACC Library to select and acquire, whenever possible, resources and technologies that are accessible to all and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Assistive Technology Available

  • Schweizer standard magnifying glass
  • Schweizer illuminated magnifying glass
  • Bausch & Lomb magnifying sheets (which fit over a whole page at once)
  • Pico video magnifier offering adjustable magnification levels, color inversion, and an adjustable light source.
  • ZoomText and JAWS software
  • Magnifier desktop app, which supports screen magnification and color inversion to aid in reading
  • Headsets compatible with the JAWS software
  • Over-ear headphones which completely enclose the ear and will accommodate most hearing aids. 
  • Study carrels with lowered desk surfaces
  • InfoGrip mice (bright yellow trackball and over-sized buttons
