Tutor.com AI - Ask LEO

Tutor.com’s NEW AI Tutor

Tutor.com’s AI Tutor is a powerful, on-demand academic support tool designed to help students get quick, guided assistance with homework questions and subject concepts. Available 24/7, the AI Tutor can provide step-by-step help in a variety of subjects, making it a convenient resource when human tutors aren’t available.

What the AI Tutor can do:

  • Provide instant explanations and step-by-step guidance
  • Suggest helpful strategies for approaching academic tasks
  • Offer 24/7 availability when students need quick support

What the AI Tutor can’t do:

  • Replace the value of a one-on-one session with a human tutor
  • Review full essays or provide detailed feedback on writing
  • Offer advice tailored to a student’s unique learning needs or long-term academic goals

Important Note:
The AI Tutor is a supplemental tool and not a replacement for human tutoring. For in-depth help, personalized support, or solid academic advice, students should always connect with a live tutor.

How can I get help from the AI tutor?

You can access the AI Tutor through your regular Tutor.com account by logging in through HACC’s dedicated link: Click here to log in. Once logged in, you can select the “ASK LEO” option to get started. It’s available 24/7 and is a great way to get quick help when a live tutor isn’t available.

Faculty FAQ: Student Use of Tutor.com's AI Tutoring Tool – LEO

What is LEO?

LEO (Learner Engagements Online) is Tutor.com’s new AI-powered tutoring tool designed to provide students with 24/7 academic support. LEO can help students with a variety of academic tasks, including brainstorming ideas, explaining concepts, solving problems, and preparing for exams.

How is LEO different from traditional Tutor.com tutoring?

LEO is an AI tool, not a human tutor. While Tutor.com continues to offer live, one-on-one sessions with real tutors, LEO gives students instant support through an intelligent, conversational interface. Students can interact with LEO to get help anytime, even outside normal tutoring hours.

Can students misuse LEO to complete assignments?

As with any tool, there’s potential for misuse. However, LEO is designed to guide learning, not do the work for students. It encourages understanding by asking questions, prompting explanations, and modeling problem-solving strategies - just like a human tutor does!

What subjects does LEO support?

LEO supports a broad range of subjects, including science, writing, business, computer science, economics, and much, much more. Additional subjects will be released soon.

Does LEO meet accessibility and privacy standards?

Yes. LEO follows the same privacy and accessibility protocols as the rest of the Tutor.com platform. It is FERPA-compliant and designed with equity in mind.

Who do I contact with questions or concerns?
